The Wood County Park & Foresty Department would like to give public notice that the Wood County snowmobile trails are opening in north central Wisconsin.
Wood County snowmobile coordinator Heather Call says snow conditions are marginal in some spots because more snow fell in the southern part of the county than the north.
But she says the trails are great and she's hoping to keep them open through March to attract tourists. Use caution when crossing waterways and riding the trails and obey any special trail sign posting, as trail conditions may change during the season. Please respect landowners permission and stay on marked trails.
