The sport of bicycle motocross (BMX) began in the early 1970s in southern California and since then has been sweeping the country. Central Wisconsin BMX is constructed in a natural amphitheater with a full view of each race from start to finish. The track is 1,075 feet long and includes a start hill over 10 feet tall, a permanent awning over staging and start gate, pro gate, blacktop turns, and a sealed track surface.

South Wood County (SWC) YMCA has two locations meeting the needs of the community: Wisconsin Rapids and Port Edwards. In addition to the two facilities, SWC YMCA Camp Alexander is located on a lake near Wisconsin Rapids. Dedicated to providing a safe, fun, healthy environment for families to experience skating the SWCRC was envisioned and created by dedicated volunteers in the community. Home to the South Wood County Youth Hockey Association, the Wisconsin Rapids Figure Skating Club, and the USPHL Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings. The facility is available for rentals and hosts many off season events including, Flyball Frenzy. A great venue for groups!
