Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling has a long and cherished history in Wisconsin Rapids Area. With some 271.68 miles of snowmobile trails to enjoy in Wood County, the trail system and its tributaries connect clubs, restaurants, and charming towns to allow riders a totally snowmobile-oriented touring and vacation experience. Winter Chill

Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing offer the perfect winter escape. With miles of well-marked trails through local and state areas, you can enjoy the winter chill and the peace of the Wisconsin woods. Nepco Lake is a 125-acre park is situated on the 494-acre Nepco Lake. The park currently has 4.4 miles of cross country ski trails. Snowshoers can explore serene, snow-covered forests, and skiers can glide across quiet, scenic landscapes. Whether you're seeking adventure or tranquility, it's an unforgettable winter experience. Passes for cross-country skiing are available at the trailhead or online.

Winter Thrill

Skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts will find plenty of thrills at Powers Bluff Park and Winter Recreation Area in Wisconsin Rapids. The park offers exciting runs and terrain suitable for all skill levels. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy tubing down the hill, making it a fun spot for families and groups. Surrounded by scenic views, Powers Bluff is the perfect place to enjoy winter sports in a beautiful setting.

Located just 17 miles northwest of Wisconsin Rapids, Powers Bluff offers a variety of winter fun on its 160-acre park. Whether you're into downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, tubing, snowmobiling, or snowshoeing, there’s something for everyone. The two-story stone shelter features a warming house with concessions and rentals for skis, snowboards, boots, and poles. Three exciting downhill trails, ranging from 1,320 to 1,500 feet, offer a 250-foot vertical drop, served by a handle grip tow—perfect for beginners and snowboarders. Families will love the four tubing runs, complete with two tows to minimize wait times. Tubes are provided with the purchase of a tube hill ticket. Powers Bluff is open weekends from 10 am-5 pm, with holiday hours available by calling ahead.
